JIC Venture Growth Investments, through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 1, has made an additional investment in QunaSys Inc.

Founded in 2018, QunaSys is advancing the development of algorithms and application software for quantum gate-based quantum computers. Through joint research with various companies and research institutions, QunaSys is developing new methods for quantum chemical calculations, focusing on the first applications of quantum computers, and exploring new applications, such as Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), in anticipation of the era of fault-tolerant quantum computers. QunaSys brings together experts in quantum computing and chemical computation, and collaborates with Osaka University's Fujii Laboratory, a leading quantum algorithm research group, to develop a proprietary error-correction architecture.

The significance of this additional investment lies in supporting QunaSys in further accelerating its business expansion, which will drive the adoption of quantum computers by Japanese companies. We expect that together with its user companies and partners, QunaSys will expedite the development of technologies for practical applications, explore new application areas to solve industrial challenges, and advance foundational technologies to harness the full power of quantum computing.

With this funding, QunaSys will be able to recruit top-tier researchers and business professionals, strengthen its global business foundation, and VGI will support their growth as a Japanese-born global deep tech startup.
