JIC Venture Growth Investments (VGI) has acquired the shares in Prodrone Co., Ltd. (Prodrone) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.
Prodrone was established in 2015. The company engages not only in the sale of industrial and defense drone platforms, but also provides a comprehensive range of services, including software development, flight control systems, maintenance and inspection, as well as tailored contract development.
The company, headquartered in Aichi Prefecture, has expanded its business foundation through strategic partnerships with regional enterprises, while maintaining a well-diversified portfolio of products.
The strategic significance of this investment lies in supporting the advancement and commercialization of industrial and defense drone technologies that contribute to strengthening industrial competitiveness through the investment in Prodrone.
VGI also aims to address social challenges associated with reinforcing the supply chain for industrial and defense drones, while contributing to regional revitalization through the creation of a successful startup case originating from Aichi Prefecture. VGI will continue to provide Prodrone with hands-on support to enhance its corporate value and establish it as a leading provider of drone technologies for industrial and defense applications.
