JIC Venture Growth Investments has acquired shares in Power Diamond Systems, Inc. (PDS) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.

PDS is a startup dedicated to the research and development of next-generation power devices and high-frequency devices using diamond as the primary material. With its exceptional physical properties, diamond is often referred to as the "ultimate power semiconductor material," raising high expectations for its application in high-performance power semiconductor devices. PDS has achieved groundbreaking research milestones, including significantly surpassing the world record for drain current in diamond MOSFETs(*) and successfully developing a normally-off diamond MOSFET using a silicon oxide termination structure, paving the way for the social implementation of diamond semiconductors.

Through the successful implementation of high-performance diamond power semiconductor devices, PDS is expected to contribute to efficient energy utilization and decarbonization.

With this funding, PDS will accelerate the development of diamond semiconductor devices and modules, strengthen its organizational structure, and enhance collaboration with domestic and international partners. These efforts will further promote the social implementation of diamond semiconductors.
