JIC Venture Growth Investments has acquired the share in Life is Tech, Inc. (Life is Tech) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.
Life is Tech is an EdTech company established in 2010. Its core business, “Life is Tech Lesson,” a cloud-based educational material for junior high and high schools, provides information and programming learning services to more than 600 local governments and 4,400 public and private schools nationwide, with approximately 1.35 million students using the service.
The company also offers “Life is Tech !”, the largest programming and AI camp and school in Japan, and digital human resources training for companies seeking to DX their employees. They have delivered digital innovation education to more than 2 million people to date.
The significance of this investment is that Life is Tech will contribute to solving the problem of a shortage of digital human resources in Japan by providing digital education starting at the junior high and high school levels, and furthermore, Japanese companies will expand their digital human resources to increase their international competitiveness and contribute to the expansion of the digital society.
This investment will further strengthen Life is Tech business foundation and accelerate the further growth of its business, thereby revitalizing the education industry as a whole and promoting solutions to the digital human resource development issues facing Japanese society.
