JIC Venture Growth Investments has made an additional investment in Kyoto Fusioneering Ltd. (Kyoto Fusioneering) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund I Investment Limited Partnership.

Founded in 2019, Kyoto Fusioneering is a Japan-origin fusion energy plant engineering company. With group operations in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and other countries, the company is advancing technologies for the practical deployment of fusion energy in collaboration with research institutions and industrial partners around the world. Through the development of critical enabling technologies required for fusion power plants, Kyoto Fusioneering  is accelerating the commercialization of fusion energy. In doing so, the company aims to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

The significance of this additional investment lies in supporting the global realization and commercialization of fusion energy through the acceleration of Kyoto Fusioneering's business expansion. As competition intensifies worldwide to develop demonstration power plants and pilot facilities targeted for the 2030s, Kyoto Fusioneering is leveraging the achievements of Japan's longstanding fusion research programs and its extensive network of advanced manufacturing companies to provide engineering solutions to the global fusion industry.
