JIC Venture Growth Investments has acquired the shares in Boston Medical Sciences, Inc. (“Boston Medical Sciences”), through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.

Boston Medical Sciences, a healthcare startup with a mission to "Eradicate Colorectal Cancer Deaths Globally through the Power of Early Detection and Prevention" is set to clinically implement the world’s first non-laxative virtual colonoscopy system, "AIM4CRC," originating from Japan.

The significance of this investment lies in the social implementation of a new colorectal cancer screening method, contributing to the creation of a healthy society through early detection of colorectal cancer. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving survival rates; however, traditional colorectal screenings pose challenges due to the burdens of excessive laxative intake and the invasive insertion of an endoscope. In response to the need for less burdensome screening methods, Boston Medical Sciences aims to offer a world where individuals, previously reluctant to undergo such tests, can more easily participate in screenings via the non-laxative virtual colonoscopy.

With this investment, Boston Medical Sciences will strengthen its research and development framework, conduct domestic clinical trials, address regulatory requirements in both Japan and the U.S., and expand its organizational structure in preparation for market deployment. Through the expansion of its business, VGI expects to contribute to the realization of a healthier society in Japan.
