JIC Venture Growth Investments has invested in ArkEdge Space Inc. (ArkEdge Space) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.

ArkEdge Space is a space startup providing comprehensive solutions from design, development and operation of small satellite constellations. Driven by their mission to "Empower people with satellites for a prosperous future," they are developing small satellite constellations for Earth observation, maritime satellite communications (VHF Data   Exchange System: VDES) satellite, optical communications, and LEO-PNT (Low Earth Orbit Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) systems. ArkEdge Space is also making space development more accessible by addressing diverse mission needs, including lunar infrastructure development and deep space exploration.

This investment strengthens Japan's position as a leader in the global space industry by supporting the commercialization of small satellite technology. The funding will drive and accelerate growth in the commercial space activities and create new markets for space-based solutions.

With this investment, ArkEdge Space will enhance its core technologies and expand its talent base. Building on its proven expertise in establishing a mass production system for 6U satellites, the company plans to develop a scalable production system capable of accommodating 50kg class small satellites and beyond.
